I had a school task to write a book related to “The Gorilla” by Anthony Browne.
Here is my version of “The Flamingo”.
Once upon a time there lived a big girl called Alexa. She had long yellow hair and a pink t-shirt with a hairband. She loved flamingoes. She read about them. She drew them and she watched them on TV. But she had never seen one. Her mum never had time to do anything. When Alexa asked her mum something, she would say “Not now er… maybe later. The next day she said “Er… maybe on the weekend”. On the weekend she was too tired. They were never together.
Her mum went to work before Alexa went to school. She worked at home in the evening. The night before her birthday, Alexa raced up the stairs. She had asked her mum for a flamingo. At midnight, Alexa woke up and saw a toy flamingo. She put it down at her side and fell asleep. It grew and grew. She woke up and saw the flamingo. The flamingo asked her if she wanted to go the zoo. She said “Yes!”. So Alexa jumped into the flamingo’s arms. They flew across the trees.
At the zoo there was a high wall all around. “Never mind, up and over!”. They went straight to the pond. Alexa was thrilled. So many flamingoes! The flamingo took Alexa to see a lion and a tiger. She thought they were nice but tired.
Then, they went to the cinema. The film they watched was Frozen II. Their favourite song was “Show yourself”. They liked when Anna became queen and they didn’t like the song “Lost in the woods” because it is sad.
The flamingo asked Alexa if it was home time and she said yes a bit sleepily. Then they danced in the grass. When they got back home the flamingo told Alexa to go in. The next morning Alexa saw the toy flamingo next to her. Then Alexa rushed downstairs to tell her mum what happened.
“Happy birthday love!”, said mum. “Do you want to go to the zoo?”. She was very happy.
What do you think they will do at the zoo? Keep track with Flamingo II 🦩
Bravo ma chérie. C’était super cette histoire. Gros bisous
