This morning we dived in the swimming pool, first thing in the morning. Then Giulia and I ate a ice lolly. Later on, after my second bath in the pool grandma showed us a cardboard pirate ship that we could coloured in. My sister and I had a lot of fun colouring it in, especially when we found out that my cousin Pauline coloured in the cat in pink and purple.
One of my grandparents friend called Bernard came over for lunch. He brought us some presents. I got a book where you have to solve enigmas and my sister got two books. When we had finished eating we went into the pool again but this time with Bernard. We had a good time!
After dinner I was allowed to stay up a bit longer with granddad to watch the start of the Champions League finale.
It was not very hot today so we went to the outdoor market where there is a merry-go-round. First, I went on a horse with my sister. After that we went to the stands to buy some fruits and veggies.
When we were finished we went back to the merry-go-round and this time I went in a little cabin that goes round and round when you spin the wheel.
When we went back home, I did a bit of painting in the living room and then I went upstairs to read a book. After a while I joined my sister who was playing with the Playmobil.
When we heard the sound of a car in the drive we knew straight away it was Mum and Dad coming back from Marseille so we jumped up to go and greet them.
This morning Giulia woke me up quite early and when I went downstairs she was fast asleep in Mum and Dad’s bed. Cheeky her! Unluckily I couldn’t fall asleep again so I went to the kitchen and ate a piece of toast. When I was finished I did a bit of the “Enigma book” Bernard gave me with Papy Gigi in the sofa. I did a few pages before Mum, Dad and Giulia finally woke up. So I went to have another breakfast with them.
We all then went in the swimming pool to have some fun except Giulia who stayed on the side to play with some toys. For lunch we celebrated my Mum and Dad’s birthday. We had a barbecue and for pudding the cake was actually made of ice cream.
After lunch, Papy, Dad and I went to the city centre for some shopping and then we walked to the “Promenade des Anglais”. When we came back we did a bit of gardening to replant some of the French beans.
A the end of the day, I went back in the swimming pool with dad.
This morning Mum and Dad left early for an island called Corsica. It was only when granddad came back from the airport that my sister and I woke up. After breakfast, I went in the swimming pool on my own. We then went to a park called St Pancrace which was actually next to a school. We brought a football to the park and grandad made me a circuit to dribble with the ball. There were a lot of play areas at the park and we had a lot of fun on!
Later on in the afternoon we went to a different park called “La Coulée Verte”. There were a lot of sea animals made of wood and I climbed on a huge blue whale which was probably the same size as a real one! There were also some small trampolines that my sister and I enjoyed a lot!
Today we went to the beach in Antibes. The journey was a bit long because of traffic but we were very excited to get there. We made a miniature Buckingham Palace in the sand which took us a while. Then I went into the sea and saw lots of fishes with my snorkelling mask and tuba. Some of the fishes were stripy blue and eating the seaweeds.
I then came back on the sand to have my lunch and ate a speciality from Nice called “pan bagnat”. It is a small sandwich filled with a mix of tuna, egg and tomatoes.
After lunch it was very hot so we stayed in the shade and played a card game until we left the beach. We then went to get an ice cream before going back home.
Once at home, we decorated the garden with the Union Jack bunting we brought from home and we then got to watch a bit of the Jubilee celebrations on TV.
Today we were very excited because Mum and Dad were going back in the afternoon. This morning we went for a swim in the pool and we were dry we dressed up to got to the market again to buy some food. When we had finished our shopping we went for two rides on the merry-go-round.
After lunch, we had a calm afternoon, half of the time in the swimming pool, the other half playing inside. It was finally time to go and pick up Mum and Dad at the airport. When we got home, guess what … we jumped into the pool for the last time as we were going home the next morning.
Thank you for the reading, see you next time!
